Blaine and I have been quite the travelers this semester. Despite our busy schedule, we bought plane tickets to Kansas for one of Blaine's best friend's wedding and tickets to Arizona for my cousin Mckenzie's wedding. Damon and Karen got married in the Nauvoo, Illinois temple and it was so fun spending the weekend in Nauvoo and being in that temple. After the sealing, we all went out to pizza hut to celebrate. I love that the focus was totally on the sealing and they didn't have to worry about all of the guests and fanfare that comes with a big wedding celebration.
Last weekend, my cousin Mckenzie got married. We flew in for the dinner which was so fun. My cousin Tyler, Mckenzie's brother, gave a speech about all of her cute quirks and it brought back a lot of memories of growing up together. To name a few: we were aspiring entomologists ourselves as we collected potato bugs and put them into flower pots to live in. Once, when we lost the "mom" potato bug, we knelt down in Mckenzie's backyard and prayed to be able to find her. When we lived together when we were 6, we would always fight over the pink cup at dinner time because that was the best cup. Eventually our parents hid it so no one could get the pink cup. We also liked to play boystore. It's a version of house where the girl gets to go shopping for her boy and then they get married and have kids. Since we were short on boys that wanted to play house with us, Mckenzie would ALWAYS make me be the boy and she would always name me Adam because that was the boy that she liked at the time. Anyways, the reception was beautiful and Mckenzie looked absolutely GORGEOUS! I was so happy to be a part of her special day and am glad that David will "be the boy" from now on so I don't have to!
